EuroPrevall aims to improve the quality of life of food allergy sufferers.

What is EuroPrevall?

EuroPrevall is an EU-funded multidisciplinary integrated project (IP) involving 17 European member-states, Switzerland, Iceland, and Ghana. Of the 63 partners, there are 15 clinical organisations and six small-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as the leading allergy research organisations in Europe. Since the project began new partners have also joined from New Zealand, Australia, Russia, India and China.

What is EuroPrevall Doing?

  • Characterising the patterns and prevalence of food allergies across Europe in infants, children and adults
  • Developing methods to improve the quality of food allergy diagnosis, reducing the need for food challenge tests
  • Determining the impact of food allergies on the quality of life and its economic cost for food allergic people and their families, workplace and employers, and healthcare sufferers.

How Will EuroPrevall Affect the Consumer

By integrating information and developing tools for the use of European food allergy scientists, health professionals, food and biotech industries, and consumers it is EuroPrevall's hope that causes of food allergy can become better understood, diagnosis of food allergy can become swifter and the quality of life of food allergy sufferers improved.

Lords consult EuroPrevall scientist on allergy report
The UK House of Lords, Science and Technology Committee today published a report into the causes and prevalence of allergies in the UK. EuroPrevall coordinator, Dr Clare Mills gave evidence to this influential committee and briefed them on the ongoing scientific research into food allergy.
NEW publication released

EU Researchers give New Hope to Asthma and Allergy Sufferers
Two EU funded projects EICOSANOX and E-MePA are looking to understand proteins within the body that are important for medical knowledge and drug design.
